Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week, 07:00 to 16:30, flexibility required

About the Role
We are supporting a leading commercial vehicle workshop operation in the search for an experienced VMU Manager to take full control of workshop performance, team leadership and operational delivery. As a VMU Manager, you will be responsible for driving standards, improving efficiency and ensuring excellent customer service across the workshop.
This VMU Manager position is ideal for someone who leads from the front, builds strong teams and thrives in a fast paced, high performance environment.
Key Responsibilities of a VMU Manager / Workshop Manager / Service Manager
As a VMU Manager, you will plan and control workforce availability to meet fleet and workshop demand
Manage labour efficiency and control workshop costs including third party support
Oversee compliance, safety audits and workshop working practices as a VMU Manager
Ensure workshop facilities, equipment and tooling are fully optimised and maintained
Support planning of workshop investment, capacity and operational improvements
Monitor daily workshop performance across retail, warranty and internal work
Manage work in progress and support strong financial control processes
Recruit, induct and develop workshop team members
Lead, coach and motivate staff to improve retention and performance under the VMU Manager structure
Set targets and review performance outcomes across the team
Skills and Experience Required
Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Repair and Maintenance or equivalent
Previous experience in a VMU Manager or workshop leadership role within a commercial vehicle environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Resilient approach with the ability to perform under pressure
Strong understanding of workshop operations, compliance and efficiency standards
