Are you an experienced Tail Lift Fitter, Tail Lift Engineer, Commercial Vehicle Tail Lift Technician, or Hydraulic Engineer looking for your next opportunity in Trafford Park, Manchester?

We are recruiting for a skilled Tail Lift Fitter to join a busy specialist commercial vehicle workshop. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Tail Lift Engineer, Commercial Vehicle Tail Lift Technician, or Hydraulic Engineer to work on a wide range of commercial vehicles, installing, servicing, inspecting, and repairing tail lifts and lifting equipment to the highest industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain, and repair a wide range of commercial vehicle tail lifts
• Carry out LOLER inspections and complete all certification and compliance documentation
• Diagnose and repair 12V and 24V electrical systems, wiring faults, and control systems
• Inspect, service, and repair hydraulic systems including pumps, hoses, rams, and associated components
• Support the build and conversion of specialist commercial vehicles
• Carry out pre delivery inspections to ensure lifting equipment is safe and fully operational
• Complete job sheets and service documentation accurately
• Maintain high standards of health and safety within the workshop
• Provide technical support to colleagues when required

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Previous experience as a Tail Lift Fitter, Tail Lift Engineer, Commercial Vehicle Tail Lift Technician, or Hydraulic Engineer
• LOLER certification with experience carrying out statutory inspections
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and fault finding
• Experience working with 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems
• Ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals
• Full UK driving licence
• Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail

Desirable

• Experience within coachbuilding, commercial vehicle body building, or commercial vehicle engineering
• Experience working with Dhollandia, Ratcliff, DEL, Anteo, or similar tail lift systems
