We are recruiting for an experienced and motivated HGV Technician Supervisor to join our client's workshop team in Grantham.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician with leadership experience who is ready to progress into a supervisory position, while remaining hands-on and involved in the technical side of the workshop.
Working within a busy fleet workshop maintaining HGVs and trailers, you’ll play a key role in leading and supporting a team of technicians, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

The Role
- Supervise and support a team of HGV Technicians within the workshop
- Provide technical guidance, support and direction to the team
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on HGVs and trailers
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with DVSA requirements
- Identify worn, damaged and faulty components and ensure appropriate repairs are carried out
- Monitor workshop productivity and help ensure jobs are completed within required timescales
- Act as a technical role model and support the development of technicians
- Assist with diagnosing complex technical faults where required
- Ensure accurate completion of job cards, service records and relevant paperwork
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping and health & safety
- Support the workshop management team with day-to-day operations
- Help ensure excellent customer service and keep customers' vehicles safely on the road
- Level 3 qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance, NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI equivalent
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, Heavy Vehicle Technician or Workshop Supervisor
- Previous experience working within a fleet workshop environment
- Strong experience maintaining and repairing HGVs and trailers
- Ability to identify worn and faulty components in accordance with DVSA standards
- Previous leadership, supervisory or team-leading experience
- Confident providing technical guidance and supporting other technicians
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Full UK driving licence with the relevant vehicle categories
- Proactive, resilient and able to work effectively in a fast-paced workshop environment
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety, compliance and quality
