Service Advisor / Automotive Service Advisor

Location: Swindon
Salary: £29,000–£32,000 FTE, depending on experience
Hours: 30–40 hours per week

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Service Advisor / Automotive Service Advisor to join a busy and growing commercial vehicle dealership in Swindon.

This is a customer-focused role ideal for someone with dealership, automotive or service advisor experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and providing excellent customer service.

Some technical knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide a professional first point of contact
• Book vehicles into the workshop and manage customer appointments
• Manage the workshop diary and daily schedule
• Raise estimates and gain customer authorisation for additional work
• Handle customer enquiries by phone and email
• Prepare accurate job cards and paperwork
• Liaise with Technicians and the Workshop Controller
• Keep customers updated on vehicle progress and repair times
• Prepare invoices and take customer payments
• Identify additional work and maximise customer opportunities
• Support the smooth running of the service department
• Maintain a professional and welcoming reception area

Requirements

• Previous Service Advisor, Automotive Service Advisor or Dealership Service Advisor experience preferred
• Previous automotive or commercial vehicle experience advantageous
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Confident using computer systems and booking software
• Keyloop / Kerridge experience desirable
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Professional and positive attitude
• Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential
• Some technical knowledge advantageous

Additional Information

The role is based at the Swindon depot, with occasional cover required at the Gloucester site for holidays or staff absence.
