Salary: £20 to £25 per hour DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, 22:00 to 06:30, Sunday overtime available

About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop in Pontefract. This is a night shift role working within a high performing VMU environment where quality, safety and uptime are critical.
As an HGV Technician, you will be part of a skilled team keeping fleet vehicles roadworthy, compliant and operating at maximum efficiency. This is a great opportunity for an HGV Technician who takes pride in diagnostics, repairs and delivering high standards of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities of a HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter
As a HGV Technician, you will carry out routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on HGV and trailer vehicles
Diagnose faults and identify worn or defective components in line with DVSA standards as an HGV Technician
Complete inspections, preventative maintenance and safety checks
Support breakdown and emergency repair work when required
Maintain accurate records of all work completed
Keep the workshop clean, safe and compliant at all times
Work closely with other technicians to plan and complete repairs efficiently as an HGV Technician
Skills and Experience Required
Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Repair and Maintenance or equivalent (NVQ, City and Guilds or IMI)
IRTEC accreditation is required
Strong experience as an HGV Technician working with HGV and trailers
Good diagnostic and fault finding ability
Understanding of DVSA standards and LOLER requirements
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality work as an HGV Technician
