HR Officer – Avonmouth
Location: Avonmouth, Bristol
Salary: £32,000–£36,000 pro rata, depending on experience (£16,000–£22,500 pro rata)
Hours: 20–25 hours per week
Job Type: Part Time – School Hours Available
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced HR Officer / HR Administrator / HR Assistant to join our client’s team in Avonmouth.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you will manage day-to-day HR administration, support recruitment and onboarding, advise employees and managers, and help drive employee engagement across the business.
You may also be required to visit other company sites, so a full clean UK driving licence is required.
Key Responsibilities of the HR Officer:
- Act as the first point of contact for employee HR queries
- Prepare contracts, offer letters and HR documentation
- Manage recruitment, interviews, agencies and candidate feedback
- Coordinate employee onboarding and inductions
- Manage the employee journey from recruitment through to exit
- Support disciplinary, grievance and absence processes
- Manage personnel files and ensure GDPR compliance
- Coordinate training and apprentice programmes
- Manage holidays and absence records
- Support managers with HR advice and guidance
- Organise employee engagement events and forums
- Update HR policies and communicate changes
Requirements of the HR Officer:
Essential:
- Previous HR Administrator, HR Assistant or HR Officer experience
- Good knowledge of UK employment law and GDPR
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Confident handling confidential information
- Good Microsoft Office skills
- Experience supporting employee relations or engagement
- CIPD Level 3 qualified or working towards it
- Experience within a multi-site or commercial environment
