Salary: £45,000 basic + overtime at 1.5x
Hours: Monday–Friday – flexible shift options available

About the Role

We are recruiting an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician to join a professional commercial vehicle workshop in Reading.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced technician looking for strong earning potential, flexible working patterns, ongoing technical training and career progression. LCV Technicians with the right experience will also be considered, with opportunities to develop into a full HGV role.

The Role

• Carry out major and minor repairs on HGVs
• Complete servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment
• Identify worn and faulty components to DVSA standards
• Assist with wheel alignment and tyre fitting
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation
• Ensure high standards of safety, quality and compliance

Requirements

Essential:

• Level 3 HGV Maintenance qualification – NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI
• Previous HGV Technician or HGV Mechanic experience
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
• Ability to identify worn and faulty components to DVSA standards
• Full UK driving licence
