Salary: up to £60,000 per annum
Hours: Mon-Fri, 45h week

Our client is looking for an experienced Vehicle Suspension & Steering Mechanic to join a busy and modern accident repair centre. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining suspension and steering systems to manufacturer and insurer standards, ensuring vehicles are returned safely and efficiently to customers.

Key Responsibilities of a Vehicle Suspension & Steering Mechanic:

• Work efficiently within a fast-paced accident repair centre environment
• Diagnose faults within suspension and steering systems using diagnostic equipment and road testing
• Repair or replace damaged suspension components including shock absorbers, struts and control arms
• Carry out wheel alignment and geometry checks to manufacturer specifications
• Inspect, service and repair steering systems including pumps, racks and linkages
• Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on suspension and steering components
• Conduct road tests to ensure repairs have been completed successfully
• Maintain tools and equipment to ensure they remain safe and fit for purpose
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure efficient workshop productivity
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements

Essential Skills and Qualifications for a Vehicle Suspension & Steering Mechanic:

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Suspension & Steering Mechanic or Vehicle Mechanic within an automotive repair or bodyshop environment
• Strong understanding of suspension, steering and vehicle chassis systems
• Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment
• Experience with wheel alignment and geometry procedures
• Understanding of ADAS systems and associated repairs
• Knowledge of Hybrid and Electric Vehicle technology
• Ability to work to manufacturer repair methods and industry standards
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Able to work efficiently under pressure while meeting deadlines
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong team-working skills
