The Role
We are looking for an experienced Mobile Plant Engineer, Plant Fitter, Heavy Plant Technician or Construction Plant Engineer to join a busy team in Sheffield.
You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of construction plant, compaction equipment and materials handling machinery.
The role will involve both workshop and mobile maintenance, including attending customer sites and responding to breakdowns when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Complete inspections in line with manufacturer specifications
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on plant and machinery
- Attend breakdowns and carry out on-site repairs
- Maintain construction plant and materials handling equipment
- Complete repairs to manufacturer and company standards
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety procedures
- Complete accurate service records and maintenance documentation
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service
About You
We're interested in candidates with experience as a:
- Mobile Plant Engineer

- Mechanical Fitter
Ideally, you will have experience working on construction plant, compactors, rollers, excavators, telehandlers or similar heavy equipment.
A Level 3 qualification in Plant Maintenance, Construction Plant Maintenance or an equivalent engineering qualification would be advantageous.
You will also need:
- Previous plant maintenance and repair experience
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to participate in a standby/call-out rota
