Are you an experienced HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician, or Heavy Vehicle Technician looking for your next opportunity in Colnbrook?

We are recruiting for a skilled HGV Technician to join a busy commercial fleet workshop. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician, Heavy Vehicle Technician, or Truck Technician to work on a modern fleet of heavy goods vehicles while benefiting from ongoing training, career progression, and long term job security.

Working alongside an experienced workshop team, you'll play a vital role in maintaining fleet reliability by carrying out high quality servicing, diagnostics, inspections, and repairs to ensure maximum vehicle availability and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and annual inspections
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults
• Complete warranty repairs and preventative maintenance
• Accurately complete job cards and workshop documentation
• Maintain high standards of health and safety within the workshop
• Provide roadside assistance when required
• Support and mentor apprentice HGV Technicians
• Work collaboratively to maximise fleet availability and minimise downtime

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance qualification, City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician, Heavy Vehicle Technician, or Truck Technician
• Strong diagnostic and fault finding skills across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a busy workshop team

Desirable

• HGV Class 2 licence or above
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• IRTEC accreditation
• Manufacturer or fleet maintenance experience
